We tried Koko's last night and OMG!!!! It is delicious! Plus the restaurant atmosphere is beautiful, the owner and staff are amazing and the food! We got the chicken tenders and fried mushrooms and both were sooooo good! The seasoning on the mushroom batter was excellent, the mushrooms were high quality, the tenders were just fabulous! The crust was thin, crisp and so tasty. And the chicken was top notch! Meaty, hand cut and no funky parts! The sauces are delish, as well! I highly recommend them on every level! Price too!
LOVE this place! The food and service is always so amazing and they give a 5% healthcare workers discount! Always recommend this place to everyone I know, the tender rice bowl is sooo good especially when I add siracha! Special thanks to Micheal who always gives great friendly service!
The blandest tasting fried chicken I have ever eaten! If it weren't for the sauces this would be the worst chicken ever. The fries were soggy once we recieved them. The best part was the pickled cabbage, despite the small
portion size. We didn’t receive any pickled radish despite our large order. The rice bowl was pretty big and I’d say a good portion size for one person. It just doesn’t have any flavor. No salt, no seasoning, nothing! The chicken was either over cooked or old as can be seen in one of the photos. The seasoning that can be seen was the salt and pepper I added to try and jazz it up. This was a $65 order that I won’t repeat. First and Only time I'll eat from here.
This is a great little place for lunch -very close to Navy Federal.
Great service & tasty food was my experience. I will be back for more!
I ordered A1 / 6 boneless wings , French fries, and pickled radish. The wings are very big , the first 2 were good , but when I started eating the 3rd , it was raw in the center, they offered a new one , but I decided to take the rest home and cook myself in my air fryer. The French fries were excellent , they were double fried , crisp outside , hot , and fluffy inside. We also ordered fried sushi and shared it. It was very hot, and while ok , would not order again , pieces too big to eat . I had the orange sauce with mine, don't bother , it was on the side and very thin , I thought it would be like Chinese orange chicken or at least thick sauce. I don't usually have iced tea , but the drink was included , and the tea was delicious ( maybe green tea? ) The atmosphere was nothing special , tall tables and several TVs which I did not even hear ?
Food was nothing special. It was good but very over priced. $10 for an over cooked leg quarter and rice with a tiny dipping sauce. Won't be going here again. Sorry. Maybe I'll try the bone in wings IF I go bk, but still will be expensive for a few wings.
Nice location… very clean …cheap eats … the sauce is everything… the chicken is standard nothing too spectacular… the fries are the same basic fries you get anywhere else. Without the sauces its just okay. The rice bowl was flavorful and the pickled salad was a nice addition. Overall was just okay
*UPDATE*: The day I was catching up on my reviews is the day we went back to KoKo's, and they have $1 wing Tuesday, $1 boneless wing Thursday. I can't remember Wednesday's special, though. We had the 24 wings with 3 different sauces (sweet and spicy, dry chili rub, gochijang), all great and no complaints. The wings are wonderful!
I grew up on the classic, homemade, southern fried chicken. I wouldn't consider myself an expert but I've endeavored to try other cultures fried chicken. I would recommend this spot for pretty good Korean fried chicken.
The one thing you have to understand about Korean fried chicken is that the chicken is meant to be fried without any taste in the batter; the sauce they provide is the flavor. Some are better than others, but I tend to gravitate to the sweet and spicy flavor.
Overall, it's not a bad spot for chicken. I like the wings with the sweet and spicy flavor. Definitely recommended if you're looking for a different spin on fried chicken.
